Plugfones Certified Noise Reduction Ratings
The most important thing to remember about Plugfones is that they're earplugs 1st and earbuds 2nd. As such, the entire Plugfones line is tested and compliant with ANSI S3.19-1974 noise reduction standards and meets NIOSH criteria. When used as directed, all products are certified for Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR) of 29 or 27 dB, depending on the plugs used. For environments with high levels of noise, it may be necessary to use over ear protection such as earmuffs in conjunction with Plugfones products. Plugfones have been independently tested to meet U.S., E.U., and Australian standards.
Plugfones®, founded by Shaun Knudsen in 2008, is the story of a product truly born of necessity. Prior to even thinking about an earplug-earbud hybrid, Shaun was pushing sheets in a glass factory. Required to have proper ear protection while at work, Shaun yearned to listen to music. An exhaustive search yielded plenty of earplugs that provided hearing protection but no music, and just as many earphones that provided music but no hearing protection. Seeing an unmet market need, Shaun began making his own line of earbuds that were tucked inside the jacket of an earplug. It was the perfect solution! Now, almost 10 years later, Plugfones features a complete line of high-quality, high-fidelity earplug-earbud hybrid products to make the day go by faster.
