100 lm Gray/Red LED Headlamp with Batteryguard™ (2000032701) by Coleman®. The 100 lms LED Headlamp with BatteryGuard™ stops battery drain so you'll have power when you need it most. Conventional headlamps experience residual power drain as long as batteries are connected to the circuit, even when the device is off. With BatteryGuard, batteries are automatically disengaged from the circuit when the headlamp is turned off to extend their life by as much as 25%. It also reduces the chance of damaging corrosion so batteries can be stored in the device for years (up to their inherent shelf life). Additional features include a fully adjustable head strap, a single on/off switch, water resistance, impact resistance up to 1 meter, and lifetime LED bulbs that never need replacing. No matter the situation, from power outages to roadside emergencies, this BatteryGuard headlamp with a 50-meter beam gives you Power When You Need It™.

Coleman® could see the light for the darkness. The young salesman was taking a stroll after a hard day's work selling typewriters, and spotted a new type of lamplight in a drugstore window in Brockton, Alabama. This new light burned with a strong, steady white flame and was fueled by gasoline. The standard lamp of the era burned kerosene and produced a smoky, flickering, yellowish light. W.C. was stricken with very poor eyesight, and was very interested in this new, steady white light that enabled him to read even the smallest print in books and on medicine bottles. Coleman saw potential in the new light, and through his vision a new company was born that would put America’s farms and ranches in a new light, and would eventually make his name synonymous with outdoor fun.
