Long firearms can be quite weighty and inconvenient to carry, especially when you're in the woods on a hunt. Alleviating the weight of your firearm, the right sling adds the convenience of having your hands free for other purposes. The standard width of sling studs is 1.0 or 1.25 inches. Sling swivels attach the stud to the firearms and the swivel size has to match the sling stud width. Based on the way that slings attach to a firearm, there are 3 standard sling types. They include single-, two- and three-point attachment styles, while the most popular and widespread gun sling features 2 attachment points.
If you are planning on purchasing a gun sling, think of the situation that you will be using your firearm in.
