A globally recognized name in the camping industry, Coghlan's was established back in 1959. That year the company’s founder, Norm Coghlan, bought a service depot in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and started providing customers with natural gas heating solutions and some camping equipment. Striving to meet customers’ need for an easy way to cook toasts using a camp stove, he also started offering a stove toaster that he bought from a U.S.-based company. When he found out that this product was discontinued, Norm Coghlan purchased the entire inventory and rented a storage facility.
