But with such a wide range of options, choosing the one that’s right for may not be an easy task. Before making a final decision, consider the number of sleepers, the width and the length of a tent. It’s recommended to choose a tent that provides at least 25 square feet of floor space per each user, as well as allows all sleepers to stretch out and accommodate all their packages. Seasonality is another important feature to take into account. Most tents are 3-season and can be used in summer and moderate conditions of spring and summer. However, if you like winter mountaineering or anything in between, choose from 4-season tents that are designed to withstand harsh winds and snow loads. But keep in mind that these tents are less ventilated compared to 3-season ones and can feel stuffy in the summer.
